Chemically Synthesized Silica

Ultra-high-purity silica built from purified precursors by chemical reaction — particle size, shape and purity by design

Chemically Synthesized Silica is made not by melting or grinding natural quartz ore, but by hydrolysing and condensing highly purified silicon compounds in the liquid phase so that SiO₂ particles are literally grown from scratch. Because impurities are removed at the precursor stage, it reaches ultra-high purity above 99.99% SiO₂ with virtually no radioactive elements such as uranium (U) and thorium (Th), and by tuning the reaction conditions it can be produced as uniform, perfectly spherical particles of any size from tens of nanometres to a few micrometres. These properties make it the material of choice for high-reliability semiconductor packaging fillers, CMP abrasives, electronic-grade silica sol and precision coatings — fields where purity and particle uniformity are held to the strictest standards.
